For this week’s Derana television programme 360 the General Secretary of the Bodu Bala Sena organisation Ven. Galabodaaththe Gnanasara thera participated. This programme is popular as a social political discussion was conducted by Dilka Samanmalee

In this discussion Gnanasara thera emphasised the fact about the culture of our Buddhist people, the manner they should live devoid of liquor, gambling etc. This was a much concern to the Buddhist Monks .He had reiterated about the habits and addiction to liquor and gambling, for which as Monks they condemn those acts.

At this moment when Gnanasara thera quipped this Dilka interrupted……

She produced a judiciary report. The suspect was Gnanasara thera. There were nine charges. The biggest of them was driving a motor vehicle at high speed under the influence of liquor. Dilka who conducted the discussion continuously questioned the thera on this matter. Gnanasara thera had tried his best to divert from her questions by talking on other subjects, but Dilka interrupted and was determined.in questioning the thera on the ‘driving after liquor’ incident. The medical reports obtained also had revealed that the thera had been under the influence of liquor. The thera was exhausted in listening had ultimately had said ‘we will now go the next question’.

At another instance of the discussion Dilka asked the thera about Mahamithawa Pagnarathana thera. To that question Gnanasara thera had quipped that he had not known anyone by that name. Before a lapse of two minutes the Gnanasara said there was one Pagnarathana thera in our organization but he was not a member of our special investigation unit.

However in the month of December 2012 at a media conference the Gnanasara thera himself had confessed that Ven Pagnarathana thera was in charge of the special investigation unit .THis could be proved via a video

The other day it is learnt that a pregnant mother who had been admitted to the Peradeniya hospital to deliver a baby had been beaten up by a doctor in the most inhuman manner .It is learnt that several other similar incidents have been reported from many other hospitals as well.

In this type of circumstances the Jathika Hela Urumaya has decided to form a three member committee to investigate into such incidents.  For JHU’s international affairs Narendra Gunatillake and an active member Swarnatillake had suggested that to collect all information on this matter from island wide and to take appropriate action.

The National Transport commission has decided to enhance the bus fares by 6.2% with effect from the 1^st July 2013 The increase has been decided through discussions between the national Transport commission and Inter provincial bus associations. The minimum  fare of Rs 9 to remain unchanged.

The discussions were held under the Chairman Roshan Gunawardena, but some associations had confessed that the hike is not sufficient. There had been 17 inter province associations who participated at this discussion

In regard to the murder of a wealthy businessman form Bambalapitiya,DIG Colombo North Vass Gunawardena has been arrested. It is leant that he had been interdicted from his service.

Currently he is admitted to the Prison hospital for taking treatment for some ailments.

A undergraduate who jumped from the 5^th floor of the Colombo University building who was admitted to the accident ward has died. It was confirmed by the Director of the accident service Dr Kapila Wickremanyake.he added that a series of operations to her brain were carried out.

The reson for her act is not known for her act but the Cinnamon Gardens police is conducting inquiries. She is 23 years old and is a resident of Lunugamvehera

The Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has stressed that changing the 13^th Amendment of the constitution or abolishing is wrong was added by him.

He has come to learn that certain political parties are trying to abolish the 13^th Amendment altogether. The Prime Minister has informed the Leader of the DMK party in this regard in writing to make it public in the media.

The Ministry of agriculture has ruled out the advertising of agro chemicals in television and radio channels as commercials.

This decision had been made subsequent to a cabinet select committee decision after the meetings held with regard to the spreading of the kidney decease in several provinces.

They have taken into consideration the reports from the World health organisation in this regard. The Minister of Agriculture Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena based on these reports has introduced a series of precautionary measures. The advertisements have been banned in electronic and print media. It is learnt that DIG Vass Gunawardena has had plans to murder a Kiribathgoda businessman “Hat Putu Sarath”. This has been revealed to courts by “Singgapuru  Sarath” during his investigations.

“Hat Putu Sarath” also known as ‘Boorutilleke’ is supposed to be a very close associate of Minister Mervin Silva it is learnt .As there had been a rumour about he is to be murdered he had been taken to meet Vass Gunawardena by Sarath Kumara Edirisinghe  also called as ‘Singappuru Sarath’ had disclosed to the Police to inform courts. He had been planned to be murdered for a sum of Rs 30 lakhs on a contract given to’Krishantha’ also called ‘Choota’. If he was not be murdered the bribe amount was reduced to Rs 25 lahks was revealed by ‘Singappuru Sarath’ to the Police. For this case ‘Choota’ had been arrested by the Police.

In order to prevent this murder ‘Singappuru Sarath’ had taken ‘ Choota’ to meet the DIG Vass Gunawardena, he  had further added.
