Kofi Annan resigns as the U.N. Special Envoy to Syria.
Mr Kofi Annan, the Former U.N. Secretary General has announced that, he will resign from his post as the U.N. Special Envoy to Syria.Expressing his views, at a media conference,held in  Geneva, he has said that, even though, Syrian people are expecting a prompt action from the International community,the U.N. Security Council is accusing each other.
Mr Annan has blamed both Syrian government and the opposition, for not following the six point plan which he has submitted as a solution to the crisis situation prevailing in Syria.

However, issuing a statement in this regards, Mr Ban Ki Moon, Secretary General of the United Nation Organization says that, Mr Kofi Annan has told him that, his mandate as Special Envoy to Syria,will expire at the end of August.
