U.P.F.A should oppose Wijedasa’s bill.

During the government party meeting held yesterday afternoon, President Mahinda Rajapaksa has said that, U.P.F.A. should oppose the bill tabled by U.N.P. Parliamentarian, Mr Wijedasa Rajapaksa,to ban Buddhist monks from entering the parliament.

President also said that, the U.P.F.A has recognized the above right by granting nominations to Buddhist monks,to contest in the elections.

The President further said that, as the party who has granted nominations to the Buddhist monks,the governing party should interfere to defeat this bill.

“We should confirm everybody’s right to engage in the political activities”, he sad.
