Sinhala and Tamil name boards made compulsory for the C.T.B. buses
The Ministry of National Languages and social integration has decided to make both Sinhala and Tamil Languages compulsory for the destination name boards of the C.T.B. buses,and the buses which belongs to the Provincial Passenger Transportation Authority.
Mr Vasudeva Nanayakkara, the Minister, has mentioned that, even though this is a legal necessity confirmed by the constitution, most of the buses are not following this rule.
Accordingly, the Minister has said that, severe legal actions will be taken against the bus drivers who are ignoring this rule, by imposing fines and 06 months of imprisonment.
