A discussion between ‘Hela Urumaya’and U.N.P.
According to the political sources, a special discussion was held between the ‘Jathika Hela Urumaya’ Party and the United National Party.
This discussion was held regarding the private member’s proposal which is due to be submitted by U.N.P. Parliamentarian Mr Wijedasa Rajapaksa, to pass a rule in the parliament, to ban clergy from the parliament.
Party Leader Mr Ranil Wickremasinghe, and General Secretary Mr Tissa Attanayake, have represented the United National Party, while,a group including Rev.Athuraliye Ratana Thero, and Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka have represented the Hela Urumaya Party.
Minister Ranawaka has said that, since they have already had discussions with President Mahinda Rajapaksa and Lanka Sama Samaja Party in this regards, they are willing to have discussions with all parties which represent the parliament regarding the above proposal.
