A fuel tanker from Vitol Company arrived at Colombo Harbour.
According to the reports, a tanker contains 40,000 MT of fuel from Vitol Company of Singapore, which was black listed for supplying sub standard fuel, is anchored at Colombo outer harbour.
Mr Susantha Silva, the Managing Director of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation has said that, appropriate actions will be taken after the methodical research which is due to be conducted regarding this bulk of fuel.
Issuing a notification regarding this incident the Vitol Company says that, they are exporting fuel for many countries of the region, but never received any complaint from those countries, even though the Sri Lankan Authorities say that,fuel supplied by their company is not up to the standard. They also say that, maybe the fault is in the local distributing network.
