A new university for the students who have failed to enter the universities due to the Z Score problem.

According to the sources,the analytical report, which is due to be submitted to the President by the Minister of Higher Education, Mr S.B. Dissanayake, says that, it is advisable to establish a new university for the students who have exceeded the minimum marks to enter the universities on the old Z-Score, but failed to do so according to the new Z-Score calculations, as their is no room available for those students in the existing universities.

This report also mentions that, this new university should be contained with all faculties such as Medical, Engineering, Arts, and Commerce, and must be established in an area outside Colombo.There were some other recommendations also included in that report.

The expected number of students who will fail to enter the universities under the new Z-Score calculations, their details, how the university courses should be changed, and the solutions for this nature of problems, are being included in this report, sources say.
