A request for a separate administrative district for Muslims.

According to the reports, The Sri Lanka Muslim Congress has emphasized the government that,the areas where the majority of Muslims are living should be joined to establish a separate administrative unit.
Mr Hassan Ali, General Secretary of the party says that, this proposal was included in the agreement prepared to support the government during the coming elections of the Eastern Provincial Council.He also indicates that, it is politically impossible for his party, to support any political party, without such agreement.
He also says that, in the past, his party has reached many agreements of this nature,with the Former Leaders of the country,Mrs Chindrika Bandaranaike, and Mr Ranil Wickremasinghe.
