Enjoining Order against Ranil’s term extension.
The court has ordered an Enjoining Order against the party constitutional amendment carried out by the Working Committee of the United National Party, to extend the office tenure of it’s party leader to 06 years, instead of a one year term.
This Enjoining Order was issued with effect until the 22nd of this month.
The District Court of Mount Lavinia has issued this order after considering a petition filed before courts by Mr Maithree Gunarathna, the U.N.P. Southern Provincial Councillor.
