Granting a ‘Half pardon’ to Fonseka is a political conspiracy.
Mr Sarath Nanda Silva, the Former Chief Justice says that, the intention of granting  a half pardon to Mr Sarath Fonseka is  to make him unsuitable for politics.
While addressing a ceremonial meeting held at Sri Jayawardhanapura Kotte,he also indicated that, totally pardoning him for the ‘White Flag’ Case, and releasing partially from the ‘Hi Corp’ case is a fine example for that.
“The process of granting pardon for Sarath Fonseka is totally based on political objectives. If he was pardoned for all the charges pressed against him, he will regain all his lost political rights”, he said.
“Is law properly activated in Sri Lanka”? he asked. He also said that, problems are erupted regarding the functioning of law in this country, since the petition filed against the arresting of Former Army Commander, is still not heard.
The Former Chief Justice also emphasized that,it is an ignorance of the constitution as well as a violation of human rights.
