If ransom is not paid today, the fishermen would be killed.- Somali pirates.
The Somali Pirates have threatened that, if the ransom of Rs 680 Million (U.S.$ 6 Million) is not paid today, the fishermen who are in their custody will be shot to death. The owner of the trawler has said that, the pirates have called him over the phone and informed this.
This trawler has started it’s journey of deep sea fishing in last September, with Six fishermen from the Negombo lagoon. Since no news  from them after that, it was revealed on the 4th of January that, they have been captured by Somali pirates. 
These fishermen are in the custody of the pirates for five months, while the relatives of them say that, they are unable to pay such a huge ransom.
