Impossible to manage the government employees ; Central Bank.
The Central Bank of Sri Lanka says that,as the number of government employees has been increased to one million, it is impossible to maintain them.
According to the Central Bank,since almost half of the tax money is allocated to pay the salaries and other allowances of the government employees,number of the government servants has increased by 1.1% during the 1st quarter of 2012, comparing to the previous year.
According to the Central Bank reports, the amount of government servants in this country is 1.23 million.During 1st quarter of the year 2011, the amount of government employees in this country was decreased by 7.2%, since, 23,447 government employees have retired from service.
The Central Bank further indicates that, in addition to the government employees, number of the employees of semi government institutes and provincial councils are also increased.
