Museum further closed, Army for security.
According to the reports, it was decided to obtain Army protection for the National Museum, until a regular methodology will be prepared for the security of the Museum.
Mr Jagath Balasooriya, the Minister of National Heritages says that, plans are being made to deploy an Army sub division for the protection of the museum.
Since, the relevant investigations are not concluded yet, it was decided that, the National Museum will be further closed to the public, the Minister said.

The Secretary General of UPFA, Susil Premajayantha says that UNP has exhibited their cut out in every 150 feet along a road carpeted by UPFA, Addressing media in Colombo he said that all propagating activities should be finished by mid night on the 17th.  

The disaster management center reports that if there was a rainfall over 200 mm to Galle, Matara and Kalutara a risk  of landslides is imminent. The center requests the public who in in these areas with land sliding risk to be on alert.
