The National Transport Commission says that, severe legal actions will be taken against the buses which illegally transport the travellers on the Southern Expressway, without obtaining licences.
The Commission further says that, the Inspector General of Police was made aware of this situation, and was requested to take necessary actions to arrest the owners of these illegal buses, without considering their status.
Only 6 C.T.B. buses and 4 private buses have been granted permission for the transportation of travellers on the Southern Expressway.
According to the reports, in addition to these, unauthorized private buses also being engaged in travellers transportation on the Expressway.

Iy is reported that he UNP parliamentarian Ravi Karunanayake has informed the Leader Ranil Wickremasinghe that he will resign form the party if Sajith is given the deputy leadership. Ranil Wickremasinghe has told this to his journalist friends.  

The road development authority says that the reason for closing the SEH between Kottawa entrance and Kahathuduwa entrance for 2 hours is not for repairs. The authority says that the time is allocated for fixing the electric signal boards.  

The UNP parliamentarian Sajith Premadasa has informed the leadership that he will accept the position  of Deputy Leader only if the VIP board is dissolved. The board and few others have rejected this proposal as most of them will lose their positions.
