Tamara appointed to a new post in U.N.
Mrs Tamara Kunanayakam,Sri Lankan Permanent Representative to the U.N. office in Geneva, was unanimously elected as the President of Trade and Development organization of the United Nations. Her name was proposed for this post by the Non Aligned Movement.
During this convention held under the patronage of Mrs Navaneethan Pillai,the U.N. Human Rights Commissioner, Mrs Kunanayakam has received the support of African countries also.
This Trade and Development seminar of the United Nations has started in Geneva.
