Tamil- Muslim power struggle for the Chief Minister post of the Eastern Province.
According to the political sources, a power struggle has been erupted between Tamil and Muslim leaders for the Chief Minister candidateship of the United People Freedom Alliance to contest in the coming Provincial Council elections of the Eastern Province.
The term of the Eastern Provincial Council will be ended on the 30th of June, and the election is due to be held later.
Mr Sivenasaturai Chandrakanthan,leader of the T.M.V.P, and the present Chief Minister is intending to contest for the Chief Minister post from the U.P.F.A.
Meanwhile,according to the reports,the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress is also preparing to nominate their leader Mr Rauf Hakeem as the Chief Minister candidate of the U.P.F.A.
