When the case was heard at the Matara Magistrate Court against the bus conductor who was charged for giving false evidence against five persons including Nishantha Mutuhettigama, for abducting a private bus conductor in the year 2003, he has pleaded guilty to giving false evidence. Accordingly,the court imposed two months of imprisonment with hard labour and a fine of Rs 1000/- on the second witness of the prosecution.The court ordered an additional two months of imprisonment on failure to pay the fine.
