Wimal meets the Iranian Ambassador.
A special meeting was held today between Dr Mohammad Nabi Hassanpuri, the new ambassador of  Islamic Republic of Iran,to Sri Lanka,and Mr Wimal Weerawansa, the Minister of Constructions, Engineering Services, Housing and Common Amenities,at the Minister’s office in the Housing Ministry.This discussion which took nearly one hour, was mainly based on the current situation of the world politics.
Long discussions were held between the Minister and the Ambassador regarding the problems faced by the developing countries, and the pressure put on those countries by certain powerful Western nations. Attention was also paid on further development of the great friendship between the two countries.The Iranian Ambassador has further said that, The Islamic Republic of Iran will further extend it’s fullest support to Sri Lanka.
Minister Wimal Weerawansa has said that, he sincerely thank Iran, on behalf of H.E. the President, and the Sri Lankan government, for the utmost support extended by Iran to Sri Lanka. The minister also said that, Sri Lanka always extend it’s fullest support to Iran.
In addition to this, long discussions were held to obtain specialist technical advises from Iran, for the constructions of houses in Sri Lanka.Attention was also focused on certain technical systems to build strong houses at a low cost.
