‘අපේ රටේ දරුවො රස්සා නැතිව ඉබාගාතේ ඇවිදිනවා. ඒ වැරැුද්ද දරුවන්ගේ නෙමෙයි. ඒ වරදට ආණ්ඩුව ඇතුළු විශ්ව විද්යාල ආචාර්යවරු මුළු රටටම වග කියන්න ඕනේ. අපි හොඳ දැනුමක් සහිතව දරුවෝ විශ්ව විද්යලෙන් එළියට යවන්න අවශ්යයයි. දරුවන්ගේ සුන්දරම අවුරුදු 4-5 විනශ වෙන්න දෙන්න බෑ.’ යයි උසස් අධ්යාපන අමාත්ය එස්.බී. දිසානායක මහතා පවසයි.
ඒ මහතා මේ අදහස් පල කලේ අනුරාධපුර, මිහින්තලේ රජරට විශ්ව විද්යාලයේ නව ගොඩානැලිල්ක් සඳහා මුල්ගල් තැබීමට සහභාගී වෙමිනි.
‘විශ්ව විද්යල ආචාර්යවරුන්ගෙ ගැටළුවක් තියෙනවා. ඒ ගැටළුව ඉක්මනට විසඳෙයි. ඒ අයගේ ඉල්ලීම තුල දෙන්න පුළුවන් ඉල්ලීම් සහ බැරි ඒව තියෙනවා. ඒ වගේම හාස්යජනක ඒවත් තියෙනවා. කිසිම බලාපොරොත්තුවක් නැතිව දාපු ඉල්ලීමුත් තියෙනවා. අපි විශ්ව විද්යල ආචාර්යවරුන් එක්ක සාකච්චා කරල ඉක්මනින්ම විසඳුමක් දෙන්න බලාපොරොත්තු වෙනවා.’ යයිද එහිදී අමාත්යවරයා වැඩිදුරටත් පැවසීය.

Its not the 4 – 5 years .. You guys are destroying the whole future of all the citizens (including unborn children).. This cabinet is the worst ever.. One minister is not responsible for previous minister’s work who is within the same government. One president is not responsible for previous president’s work within the same party. Sometimes it is very hard to think of this government as a government.
Having a degree from a university does not mean that he or she can build the education system of entire nation. You should have a strong knowledge and experience about education . Specially about the current higher education systems and trends. I highly doubt that these two ministers may have not seen at least one university which has got higher world rankings. The main draw back of Sri Lanka today is the university education system. The universities and society should have a strong link where both parties will be benefited or a Win Win situation. I wish may president get some brain to think about this.. The education system in Sri Lanka is 100 years older than the present education systems across the world.The whole system from school to universities, waste time and life of student’s and then after they make a person who is worthless to the society and to the world. Ohh god please do a miracle..
